A story on how we stopped pushing, started helping instead. A case based on +142% YOY growth and +314% ROAS with one of our partner’s 8-figure businesses.
The results:
+142% YOY growth
+314% ROAS
Here’s what we did
✅ Creating a single point of data and insights
We have a dashboard that showed conversions by source, type, value and time. Including breakdowns per period etc for maximum level of insights. Accessible to the whole team (both ours as the partner’s)
✅ Understanding our (partner’s) customers
We got to know their behavior, intent, and needs. This allows for better ad/email/copy testing and in the end, better performance metrics across the board. Tried speaking to them, checked reviews, checked with customer service about common complaints etc.
✅ We started to offer content that matches the customer’s temperature
We matched our messaging with the audience’s stage in the journey. Don’t offer bottom funnel content to people who haven’t seen you before. I know *genius* … but it happens (seeing from the accounts we get to audit)
✅ Data-driven decisions
We relied on data to refine our activities and scaled what works (still do to this day). Make sure tracking works, setup the right conversions, use the right (primary) conversions, monitor the right (other) metrics and definitely make sure you have some sort of first touch attribution or offline conversion tracking.
✅ Don’t push, help instead
Guide your customers to make the right decision and make sure to offer information, inspiration and conversion content in the right funnel phase. This decreases your total budget spent while increasing total volume (because conversion only campaigns are expensive to run)
This approach isn’t just about better metrics. It’s about creating meaningful connections with your audience at every stage of their customer journey.
